“The table in my studio is like a beach- flotsam and jetsam of everyday life drift in and out again- pebbles, shells, twigs, weeds, fabric, bird’s nests, eggs, old bottles, bits of paper, string, stamps, toys, cake, etc. This series categorizes some of the junk into the 5 elements of Chinese philosophy- earth, wood, metal, water and fire. ”

“I began work on “This Land” at a point when I was disgusted with the politics and culture of the United States. It is a body of metaphors and symbols, that began with great anger. . . . Beneath the seething surface, there was beauty and grandeur.”

2008.0422Minotaur is a collage of interwoven stories revolving around a man’s drastic attempts to control his fate in a world he finds absurd - as told by a multifaceted cast of characters including, but not limited to: three ancient aunts and their nephew the psychic priest, a stuttering accountant, an omnipotent jeweler, a dissatisfied travel writer, a naked lawyer, a libertine heiress, and a certain Mr. Patrick Rigg. Magic, gunshots, and monsters abound, both literally and figuratively. Minotaur takes a close look at how far people will go for a genuine human connection, and what happens if they find one.
